From my experience, one of the most important things is to be open and patient, especially in the beginning. It’s normal to feel a bit unsure at first, but you’ll learn a lot just by observing and asking questions.

Also, try to communicate clearly with your team and don’t hesitate to ask for help when you need it. Building small connections with the people you’re supporting can make the experience much more meaningful.

Lastly, take time to reflect on what you’re learning — volunteering is not only about helping others, but also about growing yourself.
